My Mom loves to read but her Macular Degeneration Linked to Age has suddenly worsened in April 2022 and she can no longer drive, write or read, even kindle books with large fonts, as she used to. By the way why aren't audiobooks available on kindle in France?
I have started to train her to use Audible on a new smart phone but several challenges remain, including (apparently) the lack of an easy way to use vocal commands. My goal is to engage as many 'players' as possible in this field in France (see my new blog Voyage en DMLA) to make them help out people who cannot see, starting with helping them listen to audiobooks, including via their public libraries like it's easy to do with Libby in the US. I could not find if Libby is present in France (I found later they are not). There are also numerous other problems she is facing that I have listed but I'll stick for now to this only one about accessibility of audiobooks.
Thank you in advance if you can help.
